Former heavyweight boxing champion, Joe Frazier, died at the age of 67. Frazier died in Philadelphia a month after being diagnosed with cancer.
As reported by Reuters, Frazier is known as Smokin 'Joe, died on 7 November 2011 local time. The news of his death is confirmed directly by Leslie Wolff, his personal trainer.

Frazier, who was born on January 12, 1944 in Beaufort, South Carolina, known as the biggest rival of Muhammad Ali. He, too, who gave to Ali's defeat when they fight on March 8, 1971.
The fight, held at Madison Square Garden, New York, was then known as "The Fight of the Century". Ali himself was only able to avenge their defeat three years later in the same place.
He lost the title of champion in 1973 when it lost to George Foreman. In the end, Frazier decided to retire in 1976. Frazier, who had won the Olympic gold medal in Tokyo in 1964, had returned to the ring in 1981. However, her comeback is somewhat less successful.

Pertemuan kedua petinju asal Indonesia di Hall D Kemayoran, Jakarta ini berlangsung penuh emosi.  Sejak ronde empat, kedua petinju terlibat dalam jual beli pukulan di tengah ring.

Pada awal  pertarungan, kedua petinju masih menjajaki dengan pukulan-pukulan jab ke arah wajah dan tubuh lawannya. Memasuki babak kedua, Daud Yordan mengambil inisitif dengan serangkaian pukulan hook dan upper cut ke arah tubuh lawannya.
Namun ronde keempat, berganti Chris John  yang tampil agresif. Ia tidak menghiraukan pukulan-pukulan lawannya yang lebih muda, namun terus menghujani perut dan wajah Yordan dengan upper cut dan hook yang keras.
Namun kekayaan pengalaman bertanding memang menguntungkan Chris John, petinju asal Banjarnegara ini. Ia memiliki akumulasi pukulan yang lebih kaya yang sulit diantispasi oleh Yordan.  Apalagi Chris John ternyata memiliki stamina yang cukup untuk menunjang gaya bertinjunya tersebut.
Pada ronde kedelapan, baik Chris John mau pun lawannya sama-sama melontarkan pukulan keras ke wajah lawannya.  Namun di ronde kesembilan, Chris John tampak mulai kelelahan dan lebih banyak menyimpan tenaga. Sayangnya, hal ini tidak dapat dimanfaatkan Yordan yang juga mulai kehabisan stamina dan kehilangan  akal untuk membuka pertahanan Chris John.
Ronde 11 masih ditandai dengan serangan dari Yordan. namun hal ini dimanfaatkan Chris John untuk melakukan pukulan counter yang banyak mengenai wajah Yordan. Sementara untuk meredam serangan beruntun Yordan, Chris John melakukan taktik merangkul.

Menyadari dirinya tertinggal dalam perolehan angka, Yordan langsung menyergap Chris John di awal ronde 12. Namun Chris John juga tidak mau kehilangan reputasinya dengan melayani permainan keras Yordan.  Hanya saja, petinju berpengalaman ini juga melakukan taktik dengan  mundur dan merangkul yang  membuat lawannya frustrasi.

Menurut petinju dengan rekor bertarung 44 kali menang (22 di antaranya dengan KO) dan dua kali seri tersebut, seminggu sebelum pertarungan, dirinya bertolak ke Jakarta untuk persiapan naik ring.   
Pada latihan lanjutan di Banyuwangi ini, petinju yang sudah 13 kali mempertahankan gelarnya tersebut membawa tiga mitra tanding dari petinju Sasana Herry’s Gym, Perth, Australia.      Mereka adalah Ben Rabah, Malcom, dan petinju yang didatangkan dari Amerika Serikat, Yolande Evens.
"Kami bawa mereka ke sini untuk menjadi mitra tanding saya selama persiapan menghadapi Yordan," kata petinju asal Kabupaten Banjarnegara, Jateng, itu.   
"Kami belum rencana menambah mitra tanding dari petinju setempat," kata petinju yang terakhir kali mempertahankan gelarnya saat menang angka mutlak atas petinju Argentina, Fernando Saucedo, di Jakarta, 5 Desember 2010.
Sebelumnya, Chris John menjalani latihan di Sasana Herry’s Gym Perth, Australia, sejak Rabu (9/2), meskipun sebelumnya juga sempat latihan di Negeri Kanguru sekitar dua pekan.
Sebelumnya, promotor pertarungan tersebut, Raja Sapta Oktohari, mengatakan, pertarungan melawan Daud Yordan menjadi bayaran termahal yang diterima petinju dengan julukan "The Dragon" tersebut. "Tidak etis kalau menyebutkan jumlahnya tetapi yang pasti pertarungan mendatang merupakan termahal bagi Chris John," katanya menegaskan.  
Pertarungan melawan petinju asal Kalimantan Barat (Daud Yordan) mendatang merupakan yang ke-14 kali bagi ayah dua orang putri (Maria Luna Ferisha dan Maria Rosa Christiani) tersebut.

"Ia lahir prematur dalam kondisi lemah tak berdaya dan sakit-sakitan. Sang ayah, yang juga mantan petinju, memberinya nama Tyson agar bisa sekuat Mike Tyson. Dan itu jadi kenyataan sekarang," ujarnya, ketika itu.
"Tyson yang ini punya potensi besar untuk jadi petinju besar. Ia punya semangat menyala-nyala, pantang takut, teknik yang bagus, dan pukulan mematikan seperti halnya Mike Tyson.
"Saya sangat senang jika satu hari nanti ada petinju berdarah Irlandia yang bisa jadi juara dunia tinju, terutama jika petinju itu punya nama Tyson," ujar Aisleyne lagi, mempromosikan incarannya.
