Come Raikkonen WRC 2010


Formula One (F1), Kimi Raikkonen official swerved into the arena rally. Raikkonen will strengthen the team's World Rally Championship (WRC), Red Bull Junior Citroen 2010 season.

Raikkonen will be accompanied by Junior WRC champion, Sebastien Ogier views during his first year in this sport. Raikkonen and Ogier will take part in 12 of the 13 series WRC 2010.

Over the last few years, F1 champion in 2007 it was claimed to want to try out the rally after the F1. In early 2009, Raikkonen had a chance to participate in the Finnish WRC series with driving a Fiat Grande Punto Abarth S2000. His decision followed the WRC more evident after Raikkonen announced that he would not come down in the F1 race in 2010.

"I always wanted to follow the rally, especially WRC," Raikkonen said as quoted by Autosport pages. "I am very grateful for the opportunity to drive a Citroen given 4 Red Bull."

Meanwhile, Raikkonen joining the team into the new Citroen fueling speculation that Finnish drivers will return to the F1 scene in 2011 with Red Bull team. Raikkonen himself confirmed that he had a contract with Citroen for 2010.

"Currently we only have a contract for a year, to the future, we will see the whole development," said Raikkonen.

Citroen team chief, Olivier Quesnel admitted delighted with the commitment of Red Bull. Quesnel also welcomed the inclusion of Raikkonen and junior Ogier in line next to the driver Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo.

"Red Bull's commitment is tremendous endorsement for our company," said Quesnel.

Quesnel confirmed his team will try to defend the title in 2010 to encourage Loeb and Sordo. He also feels proud that Raikkonen chose Citroen.
