Finnish daily Turun Sanomat, Wednesday (18/11) reported Kimi will not race in F1 event again next season because there is no sign of McLaren will sign him, and Kimi said he would race if only with the former team.
"The choice to remain in F1 next season with McLaren is or not at all," Turun Sanomat writes citing Kimi manager, Steve Robertson. "Kimi and McLaren can not reach agreement, so he will not race in F1 level at least for the next season," explained Robertson.
Kimi is world champion with Ferrari in 2007, leaving the team because of the arrival of Spaniard Fernando Alonso to the team 'Horses Jingkrak' for next season. Kimi was immediately received offers from several teams when deciding out of the Ferrari, but the driver nicknamed 'The Iceman' was declared just want to race with his former team, McLaren.
Though certainly not going to race in F1 next season, Robertson believes the race Kimi instincts will not be lost because he knew Kimi was very excited to race.
"Kimi is still very keen to race," said Robertson. "One year absence will not mean anything to him," he added.
According to Robertson, F1 next season will be lost Kimi and the most important thing is to find a new arena where Kimi could compete for the championship.
"More important is to find a place to Kimi where he can compete for the world championship, F1 will lose Kimi," said Robertson.
And the new competition seems to have no Kimi after Kimi rumors have been considering switching to the world rally competitions next season. YLE Finnish television station reported Kimi had to negotiate with the Citroen drivers the possibility of becoming the team's 2010 season.
