Brisbane International: First Degree in Australia


U.S. number one tennis player, Andy Roddick, noted the most out of Brisbane International tournament, in Brisbane Australia, Sunday (10 / 1). Facing Radek Stepanek (Ceska Rep.), Roddik won 7-6 (2), 7-6 (7).

The second meeting took place exciting tennis. As the first seed, Roddick desperately want to win games. So even with Stepanek. The game had to end with two tie break.

This was Roddick's first title after a 3-month absence because of knee injuries after 2009.

Roddick seemed to be winning easily in the second set after leading 4-0. But Stepanek squeeze playing style made depressed and even Roddick 6-5 ahead.

"Radek, this is lapanganmu. You are the defending champion here. I know it. For that I am always trying to catch a ball after ball," said Roddick, after the game.

This was Roddick's first title in Australia. He has four times the Australian Open semi-finals, but never took home the title.

"I am glad to come back in the second set. But Andy is very powerful service," said Stepanek.

Winner of the daughter is Kim Clijsters (Belgium), who beat Justine Henin.
