Kazakhstan racers lead Asia 2009 bicycle race

Three Kazakhstan bicycle racers dominated the Individual Road Race (IRR) 154.4 km male adult event in the 2009 Asia bicycle open race championship here Saturday.

The event that took place in East Kalimantan`s provincial capital of Samarinda would last until August 19, 2009.

Kazakhstan racer Dmitriy Fofonov took the first place with a record of 3 hours, 44 minutes and 38 seconds, followed by Alexander Vinokurov 3 hours, 46 minutes and 46 seconds, and Valentin Iglinskiy at the third place with 3 hours, 49 minutes and 16 seconds.

The Kazakhstan`s solid team hampered the Hongkong`s racer Kam Po Wong who took fourth place with 3 hours, 49 minutes and 16 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian racer, Tonton Susanto only ranked 14th with the record 3 hours, 51 minutes and 27 seconds, after Vietnamese racer, Hung Mai Nguyen at the 13th place.

Thai racer, Prajak Mahawong and Thurakit Boonratanathanakorn were respectively at the eighth and ninth place.

In addition, the Philippines` racer, Loyd Lucien Reynante followed the Indonesian racer, Tonton Susanto.

The IRR 154.4 km male adults class was participated in by 73 racers from 23 countries, and only 40 racers of them who could reached the finish. The detail of race is as the following:
